Bronze: Titanfall by Respawn Studios
Titanfall basically sold me on a Xbox One by itself. I love giant robots (Pacific Rim: Best Movie of 2013) and pulling left trigger then right trigger to murder video game men, so Titanfall is looking like the perfect game for me. I remember sitting through the mostly ho-hum Microsoft E3 Press Conference pretty chill about everything, then having my eyes almost explode out of my head when I saw the reveal of Titanfall. It was remarkable how much of the actual game they showed compared to any other product at any other press conference. It seems that Titanfall will finally be the game that dares to take the multiplayer first-person shooter genre to the next level with its thrilling human vs. mechs combat and interesting parkour gameplay. I am a bit concerned about Titanfall considering it's a single-player/multiplayer joint ops ("mingleplayer", if you're a terrible person) and I think that never works for a FPS. Also, I'm not sure if there's any surprises left in Titanfall, as I feel like I basically know everything about it at this point, even if that's totally not the case.
Regardless, I'm super pumped about Titanfall. And if wasn't for a certain game coming out the same day, I'd probably play many, many hours of this game. And I probably still will.

Silver: Wolfenstein: The New Order by MachineGames
Anyone who knows me knows that I like my shooters and I like my shooters to be ridiculous. I want big enemies, big guns and big fun! I have enjoyed every entry in the Wolfenstein series so far and I can't wait to see what MachineGames will do with the franchise. MachineGames may be an unproven studio but considering some of the team used to work for Starbreeze, I have very high hopes. Most of the footage I have seen of the game looks great and I can't wait to see even more.
What can I say? I am a huge a Wolfenstein fan and it's been too long since Raven Software's great Wolfenstein from 2009. Hopefully the game comes out sooner than later!

Gold: Dark Souls II by From Software
Who didn't see this coming? Dark Souls is, in my opinion, the greatest game of this entire hardware generation, so the idea that I'll be playing a sequel to it in early 2014 has me extremely excited. It's hard for me to get into much depth about what they're adding to the sequel that has me excited for it beyond the simple fact that it exists because I've generally avoided reading too much about Dark Souls II. But even more to the point, From Software hasn't really said or shown much about the game, which is perfect. The first Dark Souls was all about mystery, discovery and danger and those are some hard things to pull off when you run around blabbing about every single aspect of your game. I appreciate when games and developers keep it on the down-low to surprise me, and Dark Souls and hopefully its sequel are perfect examples of keeping me in the dark in a good way.
Dark Souls II exists, and is coming very, very soon. That's really all you need to know to be gagging for it.
